🐣 Did you know? that, by tradition, not visiting families (and thus not participating in mrskut) on Easter Monday can be considered a great offence to the family?
And if you come late, even a minute late after noon, expect a very cold shower from a vengeful lass. 🐣
Happy Easter (Monday)!!!

Chapter 1: Arrival
September 30, 1998. It was heavy rain and howling winds, but your shop was still open, like a beacon of light in the darkness. A flash of lightning and a high beam panned across the window. The rumbling sound of an engine came to a halt.
Could that be your first customer of the day?
Your question was answered when a young, red-haired woman in a matching leather jacket burst through the front door, triggering the welcome chime that signaled a new arrival. She was drenched like a drowned rat, helmet tucked under her arm as she made her way over to the counter tentatively, her eyes darting back and forth at the empty space before her.
“Hey, uh, you’re open, right?”
“Of course.” Your smile was genial and bright, but not scorching—mellow like the midnight sun in a starless sky. “What would you like, miss?”
She relaxed a little, her shoulders loosening as she placed her helmet on the counter until it appeared as if she remembered something. Looking back, her gaze followed the trail of dirty puddles she had left in her wake. Water pooled from her soaked boots as she gave you a sheepish grin. “Um, sorry.”
You waved it off with a laugh. “Apologize when you can control the weather.” Grabbing a couple of tea towels from the nearby rack, you handed it to her. “Here, why don’t you dry off while I fix you something to warm up with?”
She thanked you profusely as you got to work, concocting up a special blend of frothy hot chocolate with milk, honey, rosewater, and a touch of cinnamon. The pattering of rain from the outside complemented the chill lo-fi soundtrack you had put on in the background.
Sliding the glass over the surface of the table, you placed it in front of her. “Your Turkish Delight, miss.”
“Claire,” she offered. “Just call me Claire.”
As she brought the steamy drink to her lips, her eyes widened, like something had caught her by surprise.
“Mmm, wow,” she sputtered. “This is—”
“Good?”
“Really good!” she corrected, as she gulped the rest down enthusiastically.
At that moment, the door chime tinkled again, and another stranger strolled in, attempting to brush away the droplets from his clothes in vain. Running a hand through his slick blonde bangs, his piercing blue eyes fell upon the two of you like a deer in the headlights.
“Uh, um
” he stammered, only to shake his head in response at his own fumbling as he cleared his throat to try again. “Do you mind if—”
But you were already there, holding out another towel before he could even blink.
“Oh, uh, thanks.” The corners of his mouth curled into a shy smile as he took the towel from your hands gratefully.
“You better leave her a good tip!” Claire hollered from where she sat as he chuckled and raised his hands in mock resignation.
“And what can I get you, mister?”
“Leon.”
“Hmm?”
He stuck out his hand, greeting you with an air of innocence and genuineness. “I’m Leon.”
You shook hands and introduced yourself before he would reveal his order. “Just a coffee, nothing fancy.”
“Coming right up,” you called out over your shoulder, a knowing look cast across your face.
As you prepared a pot of black filter coffee, you overheard your two customers exchanging a few words.
“You from Raccoon City?”
“Nah, I’m just here for a few days to visit my brother. Lemme guess, you’re not from around here either?”
“Not really, well, not yet. I mean, I was supposed to start my first day at the RPD—”
“Wait, today? Have you seen the time?”
“I know, I know
I got delayed. Add the insane weather and I’m still trying to work out the directions on this map.”
“Well, rookie, you’re in luck. My brother’s part of S.T.A.R.S., so I could lead you to the station when the weather clears up a little.”
“Rookie? Really?”
“Do you want my help or not?”
Pouring the freshly brewed coffee into a cup, you served it to Leon, who had just accepted Claire’s offer, despite his slight hesitation. “Your nothing fancy coffee.”
He snickered, locking eyes with you for a split second before taking a sip. Tension eased from his brows as he closed them shut, sighing blissfully into the cup. “It’s—”
“Really good?” Claire suggested, finishing his sentence from him.
He nodded and pursed his lips, finishing the rest of the drink in a couple of mouthfuls. Gesturing towards Claire’s empty glass, he stated, “I’ll get hers too.”
As he fished out a couple of crumpled bills, you stopped him, instinctively placing your hand over his when he tried to slip them over. His eyes flickered at your touch, but he did not pull away, waiting patiently for your response.
“On the house,” you clarified.
“What? No,” Claire protested as she motioned to the empty seats around her. “How’s your shop gonna survive like this?”
“I’ll manage,” you shrugged before peering out through one of the side windows. “Seems like the rain’s lightened up.”
“We’ll be back,” Leon promised, his gaze stoic and sincere, as he dragged the chair out under him, preparing to leave. Claire did the same.
As the door chime tinkled for the final time that evening, he paused abruptly, popping his head back in to ask, “When are you open?”
At this, you let out a smile. “Only at night.”

Just in case my prodiction is correct, and in a few years, there's going to be classes talking about meme history. This post is for the students. Specifically, those that have an assignment to show how a specific meme affected other memes later on its life.
Hi
I hope you're happy with your life choices.
So it all started with this beautiful face.
Tumblr media
This is yasin cengiz. A Turkish tiktoker that got famous from his video of dancing to a song called "dom dom yes yes". The most famous part of his video was his belly jumping up and down to the beat of the song.
This alone became a meme, but we need to look at another meme from the time to continue.
Tumblr media
This meme is really important. It's from the movie zoolander, and it's commonly called the zoolander stare. This meme was peared with the song "who is she?", but more importantly, with the song "give it to me". It originally was made as a follow up joke on the light-skin stare meme.
I'm not gonna mention the mewing or look maxing here, but I'm like 90 percent sure that most of it came from the zoolander meme, may it be from the "skyer white yo", guy or the next meme I'm about to talk about. And it later contributed to the chain.
From the two songs, "dom dom yes yes" and "give it to me", a person I wasn't able to identify made a mix of the two songs. These are shown in the video below.
The woman in this video also uses the same concept of making your jawline look sharper, which got popular from the zoolander meme. This video got 18 million likes on tiktok, and gave the song its recegnisability.
Now, it's time...
Unfortunately, this leads us to an all too. Familier meme.
On fabuary 2023, a YouTube user by the name "DaFuk!?Boom!" Earlier known for his sfm shitposts, released a video. That video has one of the male models from half life's head pop out of a toilet and dance and lipsink to the remix.
I'm not going to put the video or a gif here because I consider my blog Holy grounds, and I'm already crossing the lime by talking about it.
You probably heard your professor talk about their dislike to this meme. It was able to separate from late gen z humour and gen alfa humour. But, with how much of a cultural impact it has on us only a year after its creation, I think it might be for a long time before this meme becomes truly irrelevant.
Side note, the mewing and look maxing meme led to the creation of my favourite meme to date.
The friend visitor.

Finally, Pierre Rehov’s Pogrom(s): Could America Be Next? will appear on Oct. 7, on major platforms such as Apple TV, Google Plus, Amazon Prime and Tubi TV.
Rehov’s Pogrom(s), is something of a masterpiece. The footage is extraordinary, as is the music and cinematography. The interviews are poignant, such as the one with Yossi Landau of Zaka, with expert insights from people like Mordechai Kedar (an expert on Islamist groups), Nitsana Darshan Leitner (president of Sherut HaDin), Michael Milstein (head of the Palestinian Studies Forum at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies at Tel Aviv University) and others.
Rehov also includes an on-camera interview with Yuval Bitton, the former head of intelligence for the Israeli Prison Service. Bitton got to know Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar very well when he was incarcerated and helped save Sinwar’s life. To our credit but also our detriment, this is what Jews do. We save lives.
Rehov’s footage confirms how well Palestinian terrorists, even those with blood on their hands, are treated in Israeli jails. They are well-fed, decently housed, allowed to join each other for prayer five times a day, allowed to have visitors and mail, and are given medical and dental care. This footage makes me a little crazy as I think about how Hamas treats its prisoners, aka our precious hostages.
Pogrom(s) captures the historical hatred and violence against Jews by pagans, Christians and Muslims, which places Oct. 7 in “context.” He reminds us that Muslims were the first to order Jews to wear a yellow patch, and many centuries later, the Nazis followed suit. In the film’s vast sweep of history, Rehov also includes the Turkish Muslim genocide of the Armenians (something that the Turks still refuse to acknowledge); the collaboration of Arabs with Nazis during the Shoah; and the well-funded disinformation campaign about this very history in secular Western universities and in mosques, churches and even in certain synagogues and Jewish organizations for Palestine.
Rehov’s family had lived in Algeria for 500 years. Still, he heard about, witnessed and endured Muslim terrorist attacks, farhuds against native Algerians, French-born Algerians and Algerian Jews. He lost many relatives in one such Muslim pogrom and, in 1961, together with 250,000 other Jews, Rehov was exiled from his birthplace. He fled to France, where he was met with anti-Algerian and anti-Jewish hatred and was cursed as a “dirty Jew.” Rehov eventually left France, came to the United States and then moved to Israel.

Then Sherlock says: "The emotional qualities are antagonistic to clear reasoning. I never make exceptions. An exception disproves the rule".
Also Sherlock:
"Watson, you have never yet recognised my merits as a housekeeper" (says after preparing the dinner with his own hands).
"Look here, Watson, you look regularly done. Lie down there on the sofa and see if I can put you to sleep" (says Sherlock after picking up the violin and knocking Watson into unconsciousness sleeping, by playing impromptu for him).
"Except yourself I have none friend. And I do not encourage visitors." (says Sherlock, after Watson inquired whether any of Holmes' friends were knocking on the door given that Mrs Hudson was away, and it was too blustery a day for unscheduled client visits. The only other person Sherlock called a friend before Watson, that I can remember, was Victor Trevor. And they weren't close after Holmes solved the mystery involving his friend's father. As seen in that sentence, Watson is Sherlock Holmes only current friend).
"Watson, It's an ugly dangerous business, and the more I see of it the less I like it. Yes my dear friend, you may laugh, but I give you my word that I shall be very glad to have you back safe and sound in Baker Street once more." (Say Sherlock, worried about sending Watson on a case alone).
"My dear friend, you have been invaluable to me in this as in many other cases, and I beg that you will forgive me if I have seemed to play a trick upon you. In truth, it was partly for your own sake that I did it, and it was my appreciation of the danger which you ran which led me to come and examine the matter for myself" (Says Sherlock kindly, after sensing Watson's displeasure, anger and sadness at the thought that Holmes did not trust him enough).
"You're not hurt, Watson? For God's sake, say that you are not hurt!" (says worried about an injury to Watson leg).
"By the Lord, it is as well for you. If you had killed Watson, you would not have got out of this room alive" (says in a threatening tone to the man who injured Watson).
"I feared as much. I really cannot congratulate you." (says Sherlock with a most dismal groan, when Watson tells will marry with Mary. Watson is so hurt by Holmes' tone that he asks why Holmes doesn't approve of the marriage! To which Holmes responds with: "love is an emotional thing, and whatever is emotional is opposed to that true cold reason which I place above all things. I should never marry myself, lest I bias my judgment." But a good reader realizes that this is not an adequate answer to the Watson question! Holmes swerved! And remember, that's because Holmes tried to discourage Watson, claiming throughout the case that womens are not a reliable option) Lmao!!
"Watson had at that time deserted me for a wife, the only selfish action which I can recall in our association. I was alone" (says Sherlock needy lamenting Watson's absence by his side for one of his cases).
And, Sherlock Holmes only refers to Watson by his surnames, as was the decorum of the time, but he also uses the possessive pronoun "mine" a lot when addressing Watson. See: "my dear friend", "my dear doctor", "my boy", "my dear fellow", "my dear friend".
Sherlock also says in many cases that he has John Watson as a trusted man. He also drags Watson to concerts, outings and Turkish baths, enjoys Watson's praise, and even allows and encourages Watson to write about cases (although he says he doesn't like it, he never asked Watson to stop and even motivated him to do so), Holmes also seems to enjoy having Watson around him in Baker, cases or non-professional situations too.
John Watson can now, officially, change his name to "Holmes Exception". Lmao.

Remember and fight: Memorial demonstration in Berlin for Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg
Palestine solidarity as a trigger for police attacks that left numerous people injured.
By Nick Brauns, junge Welt
“Viva Palestine” could be heard from afar from the kilometer-long demonstration that marched under red flags to the Socialist Cemetery: Israel's war against Gaza was the dominant theme at the traditional memorial demonstration for Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg, the co-founders of the Communist Party of Germany who were murdered by right-wing Freikorps soldiers 105 years ago, on Sunday in Berlin.
Solidarity with Palestine was also the trigger for brutal police attacks that left numerous people injured. First, a speaker from a block of mostly Palestinian demonstrators was arrested -- the reason for this was the banned slogan "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," a police spokesman told jW. After the arrest, blocks of the front part of the demonstration turned around and the police were briefly pushed away.
The frightening results of the subsequent use of batons and pepper spray by the helmeted state power: A 65-year-old man, run over by the police, lay unconscious on the ground and bleeding from his mouth and nose. According to demonstration paramedics, 15 other demonstrators also had to be treated in hospital with injuries, some of them serious, such as broken bones. The police, however, spoke of attacks on officers during the demonstration, with 21 police officers injured.
"I'm glad that the other demonstrators immediately showed their solidarity with us. This is where our strength lies,” a Palestinian activist named Walid told jW.
According to the police, among the 16 demonstrators arrested are several musicians from Turkey's Grup Yorum, who are currently on a hunger strike for comrades imprisoned in the Federal Republic of Germany.
According to the organizers, more than 10,000 people took part in the demonstration. In addition to blocks from DKP and SDAJ, MLPD, Trotskyist groups and socialist parties from Turkey and Kurdistan, but also left-wing trade unionists and neighborhood initiatives, what was noticeable was the strong participation of mostly young supporters of Marxist-Leninist organizations, dressed in black and in orderly formations among a sea of red flags. “Road free for the red youth,” “Youth, future, socialism” and “With Rosa and Karl against war and capital” were heard from these blocks.
With the banner "Defend Revolutionary History! Attack German warmongers!” and images of Luxemburg, Liebknecht and Lenin, who died 100 years ago, the “Perspective Communism” movement made it clear that commemoration is not a nostalgic end in itself. This is also how Sevda Karaca, a member of the Labor Party (EMEP) in the Turkish parliament, sees it. “Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht are revered worldwide as champions of socialism,” Karaca told this newspaper at the Socialist Cemetery. "In times when fascist ideas are increasing worldwide, it is particularly important that we reflect on the roots of our resistance."
Even before the demonstration arrived, thousands of people, including the leadership of the Die Linke party, had taken part in a "silent commemoration." The murdered labor leaders were honored at their graves with red carnations and wreaths.
Solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom, the call for peace and the need for socialism also played a central role at the 29th International Rosa Luxemburg Conference. The conference organized by this newspaper took place on Saturday in the Berlin Tempodrom with a new record attendance of 3,700 visitors.

Unexpected visitor: Namor x fem reader
While staying at Zemo's place with Sam and Bucky temporarily, an unexpected person shows up after years.
@namorslit I hope you like this!! I'm sorry it took longer than it should have to get out, but I still do hope you like this. Thank you again for request :)
I checked this over but if there are still mistakes and stuff and I messed up somewhere with the Yucatec Maya, just let me know. Also it's been a while since I've seen The falcon and the winter soldier, and this episode, so it may be a bit different.
-----
When Bucky had broken Zemo out of prison, you had helped.
After moving to New York you had become friends with Bucky pretty quickly. He knows almost everything about you...except for the part about Namor. When Bucky had asked for your help, you had agreed pretty quickly. He trusts you a lot, and you didn't want to let him down.
"Turkish delight?"
Zemo stands in the kitchen, standing in front of the jug. Mixtures of different tea sit in a container near the jug, and you would be lying if you said you didn't want to test out all the different teas.
It's only you, Sam, and Helmut, in the apartment at the moment. Buck is running an errand. Baron looks at Sam, but he shakes his head, so he looks at you. A smile creeps onto your lips, and as you raise your right hand, you reply with:
"I'd love one." He grins at you, before tossing you the chocolate.
"Thank you."
He nods, before turning in the other direction to finishing making yours and his tea, as Sam didn't want one. 'You're missing out' you had joked. Unwrapping the chocolate you toss the wrapper into a nearby bin, popping the treat into your mouth, and leaning back to get more comfortable in the chair.
It may not have been the best option to break Baron out, but he knows a lot about the super soldier serum, and that's your best bet to tracking the remaining vials down. While tracking down the flag smasher's too and more specifically, Karli Morgenthau.
To be honest you don't mind working with Zemo. Despite what other people think, you don't think he's a bad person. Has he made decisions that go against the law? Yes. He was in prison for those reasons. Did he do it for a valid reason? You believe so.
You see where he was coming from, why he did what he did, as you would have done the same for K'uk'ulkan. You would have moved mountains for him if you had the ability to. That's why you are able to work with him, even though a lot of people can't or don't want to.
"Is it good?"
Helmut is approaching holding your tea in his right hand, and his in his left. Swallowing the piece of chocolate, you give him a thumbs up,
"Here."
"Thank you."
You take the cherry blossom tea, while Zemo takes a seat in front of you and gets comfortable. He nods again, and replies with "you're welcome" before taking a sip of his tea.
-A few hours later-
"And then I-"
The sound of knocking stops you mid-sentence. Confused you look at the other's, but they seem to have no clue who this could be. It's not Ayo, and it can't possibly be the flag-smashers, plus Walker has no clue where you are. No one comes to mind, which worries you.
"...I can..."
"I'll get it." reaching for your gun you tuck it away, and as you stand, you look from each of them "...just stay here."
Keeping a hand on your gun you approach the door. Slowly. Whoever is out there may be a threat. The knocking continues, until you get to the door, pressing a hand to it, and taking a deep breath.
"...who's there?"
...silence. Gripping your gun tight you remain there, not daring to open the door until you get something in response. Anything.
"Hello?"
It feels like forever when they finally reply. Though, finally, as in a few seconds later. Their voice is slightly muffled but you still can make it out...you can make him out.
"(y/n)..." and you feel like something hits you in the chest, and you suddenly can't breathe.
It can't be him. No, you had parted ways with him years ago. You had cried over him, had mourned the relationship you had. He may have been the one to end the relationship, but you still feel the blame as to why he had ended it.
Now he stands there. Why is he there though? Shouldn't he be ruling his kingdom? Looking after his people?
"Please open up."
How did he find me?
Sighing you tuck away your gun knowing that you have no use for it. Though you don't open the door, not for a minute. You need a minute to ready yourself to see him again.
Does he look different? He's over 500 years old and ages slowly, he probably looks the same. Is he even there for you, though? He could be there to see the other's which is unlikely but, hey, anything is possible.
Okay
You finally open the door: sliding your hand down to grab the doorhandle, you compose yourself for a few more seconds.
Taking a deep breath, and then opening the door, your eyes fall on him. On your love, and he looks exactly how you remember him: from his soft brown eyes, to his ears that point to the sky, to the way he holds himself.
Three years have passed and he still looks how you remember him. Unable to stop the feeling you still harbor from him slowly come to the surface, you look away from him.
"K'uk'ulkan? What...what are you doing here..?"
"I need you to come with me."
So it was you he wanted to see, and obviously it's important enough to warrant him leaving his kingdom to come all this way. Looking at him again.
"Kin wa'alik ti' teech ba'ax ku yĂșuchul ts'o'okole', ba'ale' sĂșutuka' k'a'abĂ©et a taal wĂ©etel (I will tell you what's happening after, but right now I need you to come with me)."
You sigh softly.
"Namor..." dragging a hand over your face, you lean a hand on the door.
"I..."
"Is everything alright?"
Bucky
Looking away from him for a moment, you look at Bucky. He looks protective- and if looks could kill. Though you seem to notice how Namor seems to stiffen- how he notices that Bucky is a little too close than he likes. Jealousy, that's it. He has no reason to be jealous, you are no longer together, but that doesn't mean the feelings have disappeared.
"Buck..." you bring a hand to rest one of his arms. "...everything is fine. This is my...this is an old friend." it shouldn't hurt as much as it does when Namor hears you call him just an old friend, but it does.
"What's your friends name?" now he's looking at you again. You sigh softly, forcing a smile to fall on your lips.
"...Namor. His name is Namor." turning back to look at him.
"Namor, this is Bucky. Bucky, Namor."
Neither men are trusting of eachother and you understand that: K'uk'ulkan is the love of your love. Despite everything he's still the love of your life, the person you care for most, and the person you think about most often. Bucky? Bucky is one of your closest friends, and you consider him to be like a brother.
"Okay..." you continue, taking your hand away, and stepping forward a little.
"Now that the introductions are out of the way. Let's just talk first."
"(y/n)." he steps forward, which warrants Bucky to step closer. You look at him, however, letting him know with your eyes that Namor isn't a threat. He never could be.
"I am sorry, ba'ale' le ba'ala' jach pĂĄaybe'en (but this is important)." putting emphasis on the 'important'. That may be, but what you are doing, with the whole super soldier thing and tracking down the flag smashers, is important too.
"yéetel le ba'ax tåan in meentik xan jach påaybe'en (and what I am doing is important too)." a pause. A soft sigh, and you continue.
"So please let's just talk first. That's all I'll ask of you...please."

"Please don't do this.."
You are near tears, on the verge of breaking down hearing his words.
"I'm sorry in yakunaj (my love), but I have to."
Have to? No. More like he wants to. He wants to end the relationship, because he believes you deserve to be with someone better. Someone human, like you. You deserve to grow old with that person, not with someone who's can live as long as he can. No you deserve to be able to live out the rest of your days with someone better.
"I'm sorry but it is better this way-"
"That's a lie." anger seething through your words, but the sadness breaks through more, and you quickly wipe away the tears.
"...just...please. Please think this over."
He has. He's thought this over many times. You deserve better, and he can't give you that better. As heartbreaking as that is, it's true.
"I have..."
Namor doesn't cry. Even though he wants to. He needs to remain strong, he has to make this quick or he'll change his mind. As he turns back to look at you, you can see in his eyes that he's made his mind up. It hurts like hell, and you cover your mouth to stop the sobs.
Taking a step back, you shake your head.
"No."
He steps forward, but you shake your head again, making him to stop.
"If..." you begin, looking at him again. "...if you think this is best, then I'll just go."
Praying that he'll say 'no' .you get your answer when he looks away. Heart breaking you fall into a step past him, brushing your shoulder against his, and walking to the door. You need to wrap your head around everything and the best place to do it is your home that you rarely live, up on the surface.
You try and find the words to say but end up falling short. Instead you just open the door and leave.
-
"Okay..."
Namor speaks before thinking. You're right, though. You deserve to hear what he has to say. Especially after...
"Can we talk in private?"
You nod, "we can talk somewhere. I know a place." though, before you leave, you turn back to Bucky. He looks...different. He doesn't look as defensive as before, or protective, but he has a look of something in his eyes that you can't quite place. He looks at Namor, then back to you, and it's now that you realise.
"I'll be inside (n/n)."
He places a hand on your shoulder, a hint of a smile on his lips, and then he leaves you and Namor to be alone again. Clearing your throat you walk down the stairs, soon falling into a step,
"This way." and he follows after you.
----
It's silent when you get to where you had been meaning to take him.
A small hut by the sea that you had stumbled across not that long ago. K'uk'ulkan sits in front of you, while you listen to what he has to say. It's nice, you have to admit. To be able to see him after all these years. To be able to listen to him, reminds you of the past.
He comes to a stop, wanting to hear what you have to say. The distant sound of waves crashing brings you back to reality, and as you look up from your hands, you finally decide to say something.
"So what you're saying is. If I don't return to Talokan with you to be your queen, they will...kill me?"
It makes no sense. Why would they need to kill you? They, as in enimes of K'uk'u'lkan. They had demanded he bring you to Talokan or they would go to the surface world and kill you themselves. Is this some sort of sick game?
"Je'el (yes)."
well, great.
"I did not want to come here and put this burden on your shoulders, but I needed to come here and tell you as soon as possible" so that's why he couldn't say it in front of Bucky, or in front of you, or other people may have heard.
"Well what...what do I..."
You want to help Bucky and the other's with the serum and searching for the flagsmashers, but if your life is on the line, staying isn't the best choice. Not that you're not panicking because you are, you are just doing a good job at hiding it.
"I am sorry. Ma'atech ka'ach dejado ba'ax le ba'ala' sucediera, ba'ale' tåan a le måako'ob peligrosas yéetel in woojel ba'ax ma' tåan u tuus (I would never have let this happen, but these are dangerous people and I know they are not lying)."
Sucking in a sharp breath, you fight back the tears. So I just leave, then? leave the life you have made for yourself. Leave your friends, leave Bucky? It's hard to process and even harder to think about what your goodbye's are going to be like.
"There are no other options?"
With a head shake, you get your answer.
"...okay..."
The only word you can properly get out at the moment without breaking down. Namor stands up, offering you a hand, to which you find yourself taking.
"I am sorry in ya..." he catches himself before he can call you that term of endearment he used to call you, and instead calls you by your actual name "(y/n)."
"I know..." you blink away the tears. "...but thank you."
-
You stare blankly at the building in front of you. You have said your goodbyes, though now you can't help but just stare forward. Everything is still processing in your mind, but you haven't broken down and that's a start.
You are about to leave to start your new life in Talokan as the queen of the person you broke up with years ago. It's hard but you need to go because you really do not want to die.
"Are you ready...?"
He is understanding, of course. You look at him, noticing a small smile on his lips: the memories of seeing that smile flash in your mind, but you soon focus back on what you have been.
"Not really..."
You stand there for another minute, then you turn to look at him.
"..but I have to go..." with one last look at the building, you look back at him. "...so let's go."
The two of you soon leaving to go to Talokan.

eras tour city guide: Gelsenkirchen
(Hamburg | Munich)
are you're traveling to see the eras tour in Gelsenkirchen and are looking for things to do in the city or just need advice for good food/drinks spots? Or are you looking for some insider information about the venue? here are some ideas for you (I will continuously update this post!):
GENERAL ADVICE
credit: @youlooklikeasixtiesqueen (thank you!!)
❗if you're taking public transport i recommend using the app "vrr bus&bahn". it has a green logo with vrr in it as the thumbnail. you can use it to look up public transport lines and if they're on time, and you can buy tickets on your phone (i think paypal and credit card are accepted as payments, not sure about google pay etc) i think it should be in english if your phone is set to english, but i can't 100% guarantee it. i just remember that a friend has her phone set to english and i believe the app is in english for her. you will need to make an account to buy tickets.
❗gelsenkirchen has the highest percentage of people living in poverty in germany. if you're not from around here and you're imagining a cute german town that looks like it's from a picture book, then that is not gelsenkirchen. it's a large town in the industrial part of germany. crime is not uncommon, especially downtown. keep an eye on your belongings, if you wear a bag make sure it closes completely, and please walk in groups of at least three people when it gets dark. basically just make smart choices and use common sense to stay safe.
❗ the median temperature for july is around 25°C
THINGS TO DO:
credit: @youlooklikeasixtiesqueen
❗important: taylor is playing her shows while the kids are out of school for the summer, so anything touristy that is family friendly will probably be full
❗there is a theme park nearby called "movie park germany" which is hella overpriced. there's not a lot of good rides for adults. the lines are also very very long in the summer. i would not recommend going.
⭐ the area around the veltins arena itself (arena-park):
- mini golf: 3.50€ for adults and 2.50€ for kids - schalke museum: museum about the football club that the veltins-arena is home to, 5€ for adults over 21, 6-21yo it's 3€, under 6yo it's free - apollo cinema: no movies in english but if you speak japanese or turkish you might be in luck if you want to catch a movie - food: several places to buy food including a mcdonalds - there is also a small castle called schloss berge nearby
⭐ zoom erlebniswelt:
- amazing large zoo with three areas (africa, asia, alaska) - highlights: igloo ride, petting zoo, viewing platform for the giraffes, lemur island (lemurs move around freely amongst visitors), canopy walk (by the orangutan outdoor area) - definitely plan to be there for at least half a day, my tip is to go when it opens and go to the "alaska" area first because they have this little ride that's an igloo that shakes you around a bit and it's so much fun, but there can be quite long lines in the summer (i think mostly because it has aircon), it's called "alaska ice adventure" and is opposite the polar bears - they have a little boat that you can go on to get closer to the baboons and flamingos but imho it isn't worth the wait - another tip: bring your own food and plenty of water. it's very expensive at the zoo. like, worse than airport prices. - you can buy artwork made by animals for very good prices at the gift store. i love the penguin art made by their little feet waddling over the canvas. - sadly not a great place for people who need walking aids or wheelchairs. they do say they're somewhat accessible but they aren't (it's better than ten years ago but still not great) - there's plenty of toilets and places to sit, and the toilets have always been clean when i went - prices: for adults it's 21,50€, kids up to 12 pay 14€, and it's free for kids under 4. if someone wants to bring a dog it's 6€. prices are reduced by a lot after 4pm (adults 10€, kids 8,50€), but you won't have a lot of time in the zoo, only about two hours. they also have lower prices for students if you have proof that you go to school or college. it is recommended to buy your tickets online and i agree with that. there's very long lines in the summer. - getting there: if you go by car, parking is 6€ for a day. the address for a gps is bleckstraße 64, 45889 gelsenkirchen. HOWEVER I do recommend taking the tramline 301 from the main station, the stop is just called "zoom erlebniswelt", it's a very short walk. - website: https://www.zoom-erlebniswelt.de/ (only in german) - btw they had baby pigs at the petting zoo not too long ago - @notjustillusion (thank you!!) also recommends ZOOM Erlebniswelt!
⭐erlebnismuseum schloss horst
- i haven't been but i've heard it's cool - interactive museum in a castle!! - exhibits on how people lived in the mid-16th century - free and accessible! - playground outside for the kiddos - in the afternoon on mon, tue, thu, and fri you can use an old printing press - open every day except saturdays from 3pm to 6pm, and sundays from 11am to 6pm - getting there: the address is turfstraße 21, 45899 gelsenkirchen. from the main station you can take bus 383, or tramline 301. the stop is "schloß horst" or "schloss horst"
credit: @notjustillusion (thank you!!)
Zeche Zollverein in Essen: a Zeche that was shut down, great place for walks and/or tours informing you about mining in the Ruhrgebiet in general!
credit: @feminst4life (thank you Nadine!!)
Nordsternpark: nice park where you can go climbing and there's also a museum!
Rungenberg-Halde: a nice photo spot!
FOOD & DRINKS:
credit: @feminst4life
Noah & Zoe's Place: all kinds of food (from breakfast do dinner to drinks), only a 15 minute ride with the tram away from the venue!
GENERAL ADVICE ABOUT THE VENUE:
credit: once again @youlooklikeasixtiesqueen (I feel the need to thank you again because you helped me so much with this post!!)
veltins arena, also called "arena auf schalke", max capacity around 60k
it has different entraces, your ticket should say which one you need to use
cashless venue - you can pay by credit or debit card, or using google pay, apple pay, or samsung pay. you can also trade cash at the venue for a "knappenkarte", which is basically a card you can pay with when you buy something in the venue. they have several different "payment counters" where you can exchange your money throughout the stadium. i'm not sure if these restrictions apply to merch, because it hasn't been announced if she will have her merch trucks or sell it inside the stadium.
you can buy food at the venue, they have vegetarian and vegan options too, but i don't know what anything costs. they have an overview where you can see what food counter has what on their website. they have pretzels and sweets at every food counter.
the website says you can bring in something to drink that is up to 500ml in a "tetra-pak", aka a juice box or a milk carton. i'm not sure about foldable silicone water bottles. plastic bottles are not allowed.
no bags larger than an a4 sheet of paper. i recommend a clear bag as well. they don't seem to have a clear back policy, but it'll make security lines move faster (i'm nearly certain there will be bag checks, i've never been to a concert in this general area that didn't have them, no matter how big or small). i got a clear fanny pack from amazon that i can also wear over one shoulder and around my torso because i think it'll make dancing easier than a crossbody.
i know someone once brought a dog to the rep tour and idk if it was a service dog but i think it's worth mentioning that animals are not allowed.
cameras for commercial use are not allowed (usually that means don't take a dslr)
powerbanks are only allowed if they are smaller than 10x7x3 cm. charge your phone beforehand and maybe put it in energy saving until you want to take pictures
you are not allowed to climb on seats
if you pee anywhere other than the toilets, smoke outside the designated area, or put a sticker somewhere, it's a 25€ fine
the roof will be closed unless it's too hot
they don't have lockers so only take what you need

The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax
Part of His Last Bow, this was published in 1911, this another one that is not titled "The Adventure of".
Turkish baths had become very popular in London by this time. Most of them have closed over the decades, but there are still a few around, including the Casa Spa on Edgware Road.
Scholar consensus is that Watson was born in 1852. They agree less on the setting of this story - 1901 not 1902 is the consensus - but Watson is pushing 50 here.
Crédit Lyonnais was the world's largest bank by total assets in the early 1900s. It merged with Crédit Agricole in 2003, with the retail branches bearing the name LCL to this day.
It was actually three pence a word for a telegram to Switzerland in 1902 with a minimum 10d charge. Germany and France were 2d each. It would be a shilling or more to the USA, depending on which state the message was going to. (Source: January 1902 Post Office Guide: https://www.gbps.org.uk/information/sources/po-guides/Post%20Office%20Guide%201902%20(1st%20January).pdf)
Lausanne in Switzerland is home to the International Olympic Committee and a 28-station metro system, the smallest city in the world (population c.140,000) with one.
The general consensus of scholars is that Baden refers to what is now Baden-Baden in Germany, not Baden in Switzerland.
A mob cap is a round pleated bonnet with a caul to cover the hair, typically worn indoors.
Barberton in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa was home to a short-lived gold rush from 1884 onwards.
"Pensions" are small guest houses that will offer full-board (all meals) or half-board (all meals except lunch) to guests.
The requirement of foreign visitors to register with the police is still a thing in some European countries, although if you are staying at a hotel, campsite etc. they will take care of that for you - that's why they take a copy of your passport. Britain actually had it for some foreign arrivals until 2022, when it was finally abolished.
The Sea of Azof - or rather the Sea of Azov today - is the small inland sea to the north of the Black Sea, surrounded by Ukraine and Russia.
The average life expectancy for a woman born in 1901 was 52.4 years and a man 48.5; this was still a period of high infant mortality. However, it was entirely possible for someone to live into their 90s with luck - Queen Victoria's son Arthur lived to 91, dying in 1942.
Senility is now known as dementia.
Workhouses often served as de facto care homes for those without the money or family to stay in their own homes. Even after the abolition of workhouses in 1948 and the creation of the NHS, many of the buildings remained in use for that purpose, with over 50% of local authority accommodation for the elderly being former workhouses in 1960 (https://www.bgs.org.uk/resources/the-elderly-and-the-workhouse). One can only imagine how many elderly people were taken to those buildings with terror in their minds.

The Ancelotti family at the official opening of the guesthouse "Il Poggio", which was the dream of Luisa (ex-wife of Carlo and mother of Katia and Davide).
Ancelotti turns to wine and tourism, transforming the ancient house in Felegara into a B&B. Where Carlo and his wife Luisa conceived and raised Katia and Davide, their children, their mother's idea becomes reality: the "Il poggio" estate will host weddings, hikers, visitors and entrusts its vineyards to local farmers. For 25 years it was his home, nestled on his land: this is where Katia and Davide were born and raised. it is here that he lived with his first wife Luisa, who passed away prematurely 3 years ago. Now, traveling between London and Paris, Madrid, Munich, Liverpool and now back to Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti gives the keys of the “Il poggio” estate in Felegara di Medesano (Parma) to Valentina Pancini, property manager and founder of “EVEVE srl”, a company born from the passion generated by the management of properties in the tourist accommodation sector. The estate is surrounded by dense vegetation and vineyards, still owned by the Ancelotti family, entrusted to local farmers who take care of the production of wines. It starts with 6 rooms (a suite and a double room, but the project - started in 2022 from an old idea of Luisa's - includes other rooms in the future. In the meantime, guests will already be able to enjoy a large garden, swimming pool, relaxation area, sauna , Turkish bath and gym. The services will immediately also include home chefs, wellness services, yoga, horse riding and above all cultural and food and wine tours in the surrounding hills. The offer will also include trips to castles and visits to Parma.
